Acceptance speech

Harlem, 125 and Adam Clayton Av. The place was electric! People were crying, shouting, jumping, dancing, singing...and the energy out in the plaza was exhilarating!
Over and over again you heard people say "history", or "history in the making". YES WE CAN became a greeting in Harlem, after 1am when the crowed started to take the street party to other parts of Harlem, I was walking around and people would not pass you without a high five, or a fist up, shouting "YES WE CAN" or "YES WE DID BABY!!".
I was so proud of the dignity with which Harlem welcomed the first black president. I have not witnessed a single incident that could have been inappropriate, their connection to Obama is so strong that never did they give a bad image to the new president. Though no one could have possibly missed noticing that THAT ONE is black, the people of Harlem, who shared their Kingdom on 125th with everyone from French tourists, to the new inhabitants of Harlem, did not make it about race. THEY WERE PROUD a black man made it to the white house, as was the rest of the black world, and there's no shame in that, but they did embrace white people even more, as if in a effort to say, we're proud of our man but you put him there too, and he is your president too...
I don't think I've ever seen that many white/black hugs in the streets in...well ever! Just that was an amazing achievement.
